Up for auction Marklin Trans Europ Express (TEE) 7 part train set 1: 8873 + 8793 (both sets comprise the prototypical 1st Class Train). 8873: German Federal Railroad BR VT 11.5 Trans Europe Express railcar train set with two passenger cars and two powered end units with operating numbers VT 11 5010, VT 11 5123, VT 11 5409, and VT 11 5018. 8793: Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) Trans-Europe-Express (TEE), 3 car set: intermediate passenger coaches with special couplings for Marklin 8873 train set with operating numbers VT 11 5304, VT 11 5106, and VT 11 5206. Features include bi-directional lighting and interior LED lights. Two upgrades: originally these sets were equipped with 3 pole motors, this set has been upgraded to 5 pole motors (new with no run time beyond a brief test). The original train sets were flawed with very poor running characteristics and flickering lights, this set has been upgraded with rewired circuit board thus diodes on circuit boards were bypassed: set runs flawlessly with no flickering lines and very smooth running characteristics not possible with original train as released by Marklin.
