Similar to the Ernst gear set this Heiden set allowed slower speed running via a gear reduction for Athearn B trucks. They were not as popular and did not last long on the market. Apparently they are more fussy to install and very loud when installed.

Engine appears in good condition. Has no front coupler. I only have a one piece test track. The light lit up The engine went in reverse but didn’t seem to move forward well. It seemed like it wanted to. Not sure if my track and transformer or not. I have a small Bachman transformer I ran it on. I would say the engine probably needs a repair. It’s still a harder one to get ahold of. See photos
