Lionel pre-war O gauge Model 238 “Pennsylvania Torpedo” steam locomotive and matching tender. Lionel manufactured this die-cast O gauge model from1936 to 1940. Models produced between 1939 and 1940 were finished in satin black, matching the version displayed in your image.
It has smoke, Whistle, Bell, Engine sounds. No original box; but, I have an incorrect box with Styrofoam casing that works fairly well. Two spare traction bands are included. No instructions, so I printed an up-to-date copy from the MTH web site.
Parts/Repair Transformer tested and nothing happened. Tender has no motor or wiring
