Lionel 385E Vintage Standard Gauge Steam Locomotive and Tender

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-5: Good based on visual appearance. There are heavy signs of nicks, scratches, and surface rust on both the locomotive and tender. Additionally, the paint on both items shows heavy wear, chipping, and spots of bubbling in the die-cast. Some of the die-cast is beginning to become brittle. The overall appearance of these items may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. This item has been inspected by our repair shop. Please see the attached picture for inspection details and additional operation information. Tender whistle non-functional. The instruction manuals and original boxes are not included with these items. Check the photos for a detail.

The locomotive is another matter entirely. Lionel got the idea to make the flanges for those enormous wheels out of rubber, I am sure they would be astonished to find out that their locomotive was still around roughly 100 years later, but the rubber has long since turned brittle and is falling apart.
