THE MODEL HAS BEEN RENUMBERED FROM 1814. THE LIGHTING IS ALL LED’S. I REPLACED THE FACTORY AXLE GEARS WITH ATHEARN ATH-60024 AXLE GEARS. THIS SHOULD ELIMINATE CRACKED GEARS FOR THE NEXT 20-30 YEARS (ATHEARN RELIABILITY!).
You are buying an HO scale Penn Central U23B manufactured by Atlas Model Railroad Corporation. This item is fitted with a DCC decoder, but does not have a sound function. The front and the rear headlight also do not work. The front handrails are loose, (as shown in the picture) so they might need some glue to stay back in place. The wheels are also fairly dirty, so they might need some cleaning in order to run smoothly. Other than that, there is no visible damage to the locomotive. Up for sale are the AHM HO Penn Central RS-2 Powered Diesel Locomotive #5009 Runs ok and RS-2 Dummy (Non Powered) NO Box for these…. The powered locomotive is missing it’s horn but all other railings are intact. Both couplers are there, runs forward, reverse, lights work. A bit dusty but overall a nice model. As far as the dummy locomotive one of the front handrails came off clean but was glued back on.
