The locomotive itself is brand-new in the box, still taped into the Styrofoam. The box is a little shelf-worn but the model is several decades old so it is to be expected. 8 pin DCC ready. The Proto 1000 HO 9934 CNW Chicago Northwestern Budd RDC-1 model is a vintage replica of a diesel locomotive, featuring a silver color scheme and a scale of 1:87. Made of plastic and diecast materials, this ready-to-go pre-built model is designed for standard DC operation with light function and is part of a two-rail system. Item is like -new. It has only a few hours of run time at Christmas. This is best for those who are capable of servicing HO scale locos. As typical with Proto 2000, the unit either has hardened grease on the gear or a cracked gear and needs the Athearn replacement part. The motor has zest, but it needs a little attention. The lights work, but as installed by Proto do not light up as bright as others. Item does look great. Stored in a smoke-free environment. Shipping in the US only. No returns.
