Miniature electric U20C locomotive, “VLi”, in 1:87 – HO scale. Approximate length: 21.5 cm. Just as General Motors’ G-12 was considered, in 1956, as the ideal choice for railways in developing countries due to its favorable cost-performance ratio, the U-20-C became one of these general application, used in gauges ranging from 1.00m to 1.67m, both for passenger and cargo service, but not recommended for maneuvers in yards. Most of these locomotives were manufactured at the Brazilian General Electric unit, in Campinas (SP), and supplied to Brazilian railways, or exported to Mozambique, Jordan, Angola, Bolivia, etc. The U-20-C locomotives manufactured in the USA they were also exported to Colombia, Angola. Miniature electric locomotive C30-7, “ALL”, América Latina Logística, Phase III, in scale 1:87 – HO. Approximate length: 21.5 cm. The C30-7 produced by General Electric is a 3-axis bogie locomotive, with 3000HP of power, produced in the late 70’s. In Brazil, 48 C30-7 were produced, 41 of which for EF Carajás and 7 for EF Cutrale Quintella, to operate on Fepasa’s wide gauge lines. With the possibility of importing used locomotives, our railways started to bring hundreds of C30-7 from the USA. In April 2007 the number of them already exceeded 500 in Brazil. Miniature electric locomotive AC44i, RUMO, Phase II (8320), in scale 1:87 – HO. Approximate length: 24.5 cm. AC44i is a large locomotive manufactured in Contagem (MG) by GE Transportation with a nationalization index of 63% of the components used. It is a diesel-electric alternating current machine that delivers a power of 4500HP in its 32,500Kg. It is currently the most important locomotive in the national rail network and is used to transport the most diverse commodities such as sugar, soy, iron ore, oil, bauxite, etc. They can be seen in operation more ostensibly in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, where products flow to the port of Santos (SP). You are bidding on a nice looking, vintage HO Scale, Frateschi Brazil marked B unit, unmarked A unit, Powered Pennsylvania 9602-A with non powered B unit 9601-A, in the pictures. 6 7/8 inches long. Nice set, light wear from use, loco is missing the rear coupler, both need a good general cleaning.
