Lionel #2036 2-6-4 Steam Locomotive. Runs well forward and reverse. The e-unit cycles properly. A few spots of corrosion, most noticeable in the boiler front area. No smoke unit in these.

It ran well in F-N-R. Headlight works, bell and whistle (2 tones) sounded on cue. I did not test the smoke unit. It holds the rear wheel set on the tender (another PIC close-up). To replace it requires removing the rear coupler retaining clip.

I am not sure if this locomotive is supposed to have an operating headlight or not. The wheels show slight run time. The original box is included. A great locomotive for the operator and collector.
