This set looks to be brand new in the box. That being said, when I initially got it, the hose piece between the two drive rods was dry rotted so I replaced it. The hose I used works, but it could use one with a slightly smaller circumference. It runs now in forwards and reverse as it should but it lacks in torque. I’m sure you could use any standard silicone/rubber hose if you wished to fix it further. Everything else on this locomotive is absolutely excellent in its condition. Including the box which is also in good shape. This is part of a large HO brass collection I have recently acquired. Make sure to check my page for other HO brass model trains and rolling stock. RARE HO NJCB Brass Long Island RR “Ping Pong” MU 3 Car Set – (EX READ)

These models look brand new in their boxes. I’m almost certain they were. The powered unit has been tested, and while the motor does run, I can confirm one of the plastic drive gears is cracked so spins freely on the axle. Because of this the locomotive only runs on one wheel at the moment. I’m sure it’s an easy fix if you can get/print the part. Really great chance for someone to pick up an extremely rare set at a steal of a price due to this issue. This is part of a large HO brass collection I have recently acquired.
