Epoch 3, gauge H0 / 1:87. Steam locomotive 66 002 DB. Steam locomotive 66 002. Fast, powerful, economical and elegant: The Deutsche Bundesbahn’s best new steam locomotive came onto the tracks in 1955 as the Class 66. With around 1000 hp and a top speed of 100 km/h, it was intended to replace numerous types of locomotives, most of which dated NOCH to the state railway era, as the girl for everything. The two prototypes 66 001 and 002 were convincing across the board. They pulled passenger trains on main and branch lines just as reliably as express trains on the Frankfurt – Giessen main line. Smoke generator installed as standard, with speed-dependent, dynamic smoke emission. Triple headlights and two red marker lights that change depending on the direction of travel work in conventional op.
