🚨 These were part of my late father’s extensive model train collection. He was a collector from the 1960s until his passing, and while he adored these trains, he never set up a full layout apart from a small display 25+ years ago to show us kids how they worked.
Only 100 of these were imported from Korea in 1982. Custom painted, lettered, numbered & weathered to match Northern Pacific #1776. Tested on 6/24/26 and found her to run remarkably well in both directions.
6961 Northern Pacific A-3 4-8-4, #2665, Pre-1947, Black Boiler, Paragon4 Sound/DC/DCC, Smoke, HO SCALE. The SP&S locomotives were designated Class E-1. They were mostly identical to the Northern Pacific A-3’s, except all three were oil burners.

The EMD GP9 is a four-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by General Motors’ Electro-Motive Division between 1954 and 1959. Externally, the GP9 strongly resembled its predecessor. Most were built with high short hoods, but the Southern Pacific ordered a number with low short hoods for improved crew visibility.
