6985 UP Challenger 4-6-6-4, #3977, Museum Version, Two-tone Gray, Oil Tender, w/ wind wings, Paragon4 Sound/DC/DCC, Smoke. Among the surviving Challengers, Union Pacific No. 3985 stands out. The only other surviving Challenger, UP No. 3977, is on display in North Platte, Nebraska.

Up for sale is this beautiful Broadway Limited Union Pacific CSA-2 Early Challenger 4-6-6-4 locomotive #3830. It is a brass hybrid model and is factory equipped with Paragon 4 DCC & sound. It is in excellent condition and runs well. The wheel faces of the front pilot wheels and the axle ends of the drivers have been professionally painted to match the color of the driver wheel faces. The couplers have been replaced with Kadee scale heads. The only flaw is that the rear tender headlight does not seem to be working, however this may be a programming related issue.

This item appears to have been run sparingly, and displays overall signs of very light previous use. The original paint is in great shape, and the rest of the unit displays a like-new overall finish.
