The SW1200 was the third model of 1,200 hp SW series switchers built by EMD. It was a successor to the SW7 and SW9. Late SW1200s built in 1966 were instead built with the 567E 12-cylinder engine. Most of the locomotive’s external features were unchanged from the SW9, making distinguishing between the two models difficult.

Walthers HO Southern Pacific GE 8-40B Road #8041. This item was purchased for helper service on the club layout but was never ultimately used for that purpose and has remained in the box since it was originally purchased. The item has never been run.
Ho scale walthers mainline CN Sd75I Engine has ESU DCC & Sound and is weathered to look like the real thing. Engine has a lot of added details such as PTC antennas , sun shades, MU hoses & cables , and grab irons . Engine runs and sounds good and has box. Engine was fitted with a Nixtrainz “Decoder buddy” which ditchlights were messed up in the process. They work but need to be programmed to a certain CV , front and rear lights work as they should.
