This really nice HO gauge loco by Marklin Hamo is 8375 a DB BR 216 diesel loco in red livery. It has running number 216 025-7. The V160 is the first variant of the V160 family, built for the Deutsche Bundesbahn for medium/heavy trains. The Class were successful locomotives, eventually leading to a family of similar locomotives. Due to them having steam heating, and a lack in later years of suitable coaching stock they were amongst the first of the family to be withdrawn, no examples being operated by Deutsche Bahn by 2004. A few examples were converted to the short lived DBAG Class 226, with other examples being rebuilt and still in service with private operators. In 1968 the V160s were known as the BR 216. They formed the backbone of non-shunting locomotive diesel traction in Germany up to the 1990s, and continued to do so along with the Class 232 locomotives of the former Deutsche Reichsbahn in the 2000s This loco is in excellent condition as you can see in the pictures, it is tested and runs. A complete external visual inspection has shown the overall condition is excellent. The box is in good but perhaps a bit shelf worn condition. Overall this is a really nice scale locomotive and would look fantastic on a layout.
