DESCRIPTION: This is a rare Suydam HO gauge brass model of a Pacific Electric "Portland Twelve" class interurban car, powered. It was purchased new when these models were first produced several years ago and it has been in storage ever since. It has never been run. Cars 1252-1263 came to PE in 1928 after Southern Pacific's line originally known as The Portland, Eugene & Eastern Railway abandoned service, hence their Pacific Electric nickname . These cars were built by the Pullman Company in 1912 for the PE&E. The Portland cars continued to serve until the end of all 1200 Class cars in 1950. A nice feature of these cars was the greenish stained glass on the upper portion of all side windows (see photo).
