Behold the Lionel SD80MAC, one of the longest scale diesel locomotives that Lionel has ever built, second banana to their DD35A releases from several years ago. However, because this is a pre-2020 model, it does not have Bluetooth or the latest new features, such as multiple horn and bell options or realistic radio chatter.

ESU LokSound decoder. Equipped with ESU’s exclusive Full Throttle features for ultimate realism in prototype running. Model: EMD GP39-2 Phase 1 Diesel Locomotive. The largest original fleet of GP39-2s was assembled by the Santa Fe who, over the course of seven years, acquired a total of 106 units.
Introduced in 1992, the EMD SD70M was a 4000-horsepower locomotive that ran on EMD’s new steerable truck design, known as the HTCR-II radial truck. This new truck allowed the locomotive to transfer its power to the rails more efficiently, which in turn enabled two SD70M locomotives to pull a train that would have taken 3 SD40-2s to pull.
