ATHEARN SWITCHER LOCO TUNE UP KIT 84021

These are my idea of what a tune up kit should consist of to tune up these ATHEARN switchers, the diagrams are from my collection of locomotives and are included with your select purchase. Each kit comes with two motor mounts, two motor brushes and two motor brush springs plus the copy of the exploded locomotive model diagram.

The E8 and E9 marked the culmination of the “E-Unit” series of passenger locomotives produced by General Motors’ Electro-Motive Division in La Grange, Illinois. From August 1949 to January 1954, a total of 450 cab versions, or E8As, were manufactured, with 447 for the U.S. and 3 for Canada.

8760 EMD E7 A/B, ACL 533 / 760B, Purple & Silver, A-unit. The E7, a 2,000-horsepower passenger train locomotive, was manufactured by General Motors’ Electro-Motive Division in La Grange, Illinois. From February 1945 to April 1949, a total of 428 cab versions, known as E7As, were produced, along with 82 booster E7Bs from March 1945 to July 1948.

The GP30’s were designed to compete with GE’s U25B. EMD wanted the new body to be modern and updated, so the GM Automotive Styling Center created the GP30’s unique “hump” and cab roof profile. EMD GP30 Low Nose – Standard DC.
