The two-part Dutch electric multiple unit Plan V – better known in the Netherlands as Mat ’64 or under the nickname Apekop (monkey head) – became one of the Dutch State Railways’ standard commuter trains from the mid-1960s. With a total of 246 units, it was the most frequently built NS multiple unit at the time. From the V3 series onwards, the new color scheme of the Dutch State Railways also became established on Plan V: bright yellow with gray details on the front and three blue, diagonal stripes on each side of the car. Until they were decommissioned, the multiple units were used on almost Allen electrified railway lines in the Netherlands. This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. The locomotive’s cab apron is loose. The grab-iron pieces at the locomotive’s cab entrance are slightly bent. The locomotive shows a white residue on the cab sides. The tender shows a thick scrape on the shell resulting in a spot of paint peeling. The locomotive and tender show scratches and spots of paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. This item has been inspected by our repair shop.
