The 4,000hp Dash 8-40CW was produced by General Electric between 1989 and 1993 as a follow-up to the successful Dash 8-40C locomotive. Many of these units are still in regular mainline and heavy-haul freight service and others have gone on to secondary owners or into rebuild programs.
Train has never been used before. It still has the cardboard from the factory on the trucks of the train (around the wheel area). Box does not look new. Train is new and could show minor dust. Photos are part of the description.

There are light scratches along the body. The wheels show average signs of wear. Both locomotives show signs of glue residue. Some decorative trim pieces may be missing from these locomotives. This item has been out on display previously and its overall appearance could be significantly improved with a thorough dusting or a light wipe down. The instruction manual is not included.
