Decent looking 666 die-cast U.S. Army locomotive and tender. Bench tested and ran decent in both directions. Smoke worked great for a couple of minutes but stopped. I’m guessing it ran out of what little smoke fluid was still on the wick.

Here is something that is almost always missing out of original Marx trainsets with smoking engines like the 333 or 666. It is the little green glass bottle of “smoke fluid”! Actually, it was just mineral oil! This original bottle with its original label and cap has only about 1/4 of the liquid in it, but honestly, most people want it to complete a set, and as mentioned, you can just add some mineral oil to fill it up. Photos show the bottle from several angles with a yardstick in the shots for size reference, plus one closeup to show level of contents.
